Roasted Pecans

Today I wanted to make something for Valentine's Day. The only issue I had was finding a good Valentine recipe that wasn't chocolate, since James doesn't like chocolate. I suddenly remembered that he mentioned roasted nuts the other day so I looked up a recipe and they are super easy to make! We had pecans in the freezer, so that's what I made.

Super Bowl

First attempting at making soft pretzels

For the Super Bowl my mom and I made our own soft pretzels for the first time. It was fairly easy. It just started with a bread dough of some sort (my mom made that, so I don't know the details). We let the dough rise and then shaped the pretzels. You then put each pretzel in boiling water for 30 seconds, just like cooking a bagel. Then you coat it with egg, sprinkle on the salt, and bake. They were sooo good!

My dog, Rebel, really enjoyed the smell of the pretzels and could not stop staring at them!

New Blog

I attempted to start a photo blog last year and I didn't get anywhere with it. I received a new camera for Christmas that I haven't been using as much as I'd like. I figure what better time than now to start over. I know I'm not an exceptional photographer, I don't do much more than point and shoot but this is just my place to share interesting photos.

Bella, Christmas 2009

This is my kitten Bella. She is an indoor cat (who is bound and determined to get outside) so when people are carrying things in and out of the door we put her in the bathroom. When I opened the door I heard her climbing up the other side and once the door was open she propped herself on top. She was perfectly content up there and would have stayed up there if we didn't get her down.
